Children of all ages are welcome to participate in worship. Children’s Bulletins and Worship Totes are available for younger worshipers. Ask a greeter or usher to show you where they are.
Childcare for Infants and Toddlers
Childcare is provided for infants and toddlers in the Nursery from 9:15 am to Noon. First Congregational Nursery Staff are certified in CPR and First Aid. Pagers allow parents to worship, knowing that they can be contacted during the service, should the need arise.
A Respite Room is available in the Narthex for those who may need to step out of worship for a time. The service is broadcasted in the Respite Room. (This is the temporary home of the Respite Room during the renovation)
Sunday morning classes are offered for children age 3 through 6th Grade. Children head to class following the Time With Children in Worship. We strive to create a safe and welcoming learning environment for all children.
We use a Learning Center Rotation Model Sunday School for Grades 1-6. Each month is dedicated to a specific subject (i.e. Jesus & John the Baptist) and classes rotate through three different Learning Centers designed to reach different learning styles: STUDIO: Art CINEMA: Movies LAB: A more traditional classroom with Kinetic learning.
Fifth Sundays are dedicated to Mission Education/Projects
Younger children (PreK, Kindergarten and 1st grade) are invited to participate in Wee Worship on the first Sunday of each month. Older children are invited to stay in worship to participate in communion with their families.
Children and Communion
Children 2nd grade and older (at the discretion of parents) are invited to the Communion Table on the first Sunday of each month. A communion preparation class is offered each fall.
