Blessing of the Backpacks

We invite all students to bring their backpacks to worship for a special blessing as a new school year begins. This is also the time when we will bless the 90  backpacks and school supplies we have collected to be distributed to local students in need. We recognize that a backpack is a symbol of all that students carry  ith them as they go to and from school. We want to send  them on their way with blessings and the hopes that they will learn  new things. And on the days when  they feel afraid or discouraged,  we want them to know that our prayers are with them, just as God's love is always with them. No matter your age or stage in life, if you are a student with a backpack, please bring it with you to worship on August 26!
