A new year for the Food Resource Bank project

Event Date:
Sunday, March 13, 2011 - 10:15am - Thursday, March 31, 2011 - 1:00pm

The combined 2010 season contribution to the project after paying bills for pig feed and processing is $2800. In 2011 we are planning once again to have summer garden markets and an animal growing project. You can look forward to learning more about dairy cow operations as Farmer Brown from Paoli UCC has graciously agreed to donate a portion of the season’s proceeds from one of his well cared for Holstein cows. His cows average 95 gallons of milk/cow/day, trouncing the state average of 75 gallons/day. You can learn more about FRB and the Cambodia South project at this link: http://www.foodsresourcebank.org/Programs_and_Projects/1/a0bA0000000TwQpIAK

To see pictures from last year’s project and harvest celebration “Swing N Swine” search for WI growing projects and look for the happy pigs or Paoli WI Growing project.
If you would like to get involved in the planning for this year’s project promotion or planning of the fall harvest celebration, send a note to Outreach@firstcongmadison.org Our next meeting is tentatively scheduled for June 30th.
