Madison Area CROP Hunger Walk

Event Date:
Sunday, October 21, 2018 - 12:45pm - 4:00pm
First Congregational Church will again be host for the Madison Area CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, October 21. Individuals from Madison area Faith Communities will gather together to walk in solidarity with those around the globe personally living with hunger, poverty, and/or the effects of natural and man-made disasters. Registration begins at 12:45 pm with the Walk stepping off at 1:30 pm.

The CROP Walk raises funds for the efforts of Church World Service (CWS) to serve those in need. In just the first six months of 2018, CWS has distributed 9,990 Hygiene Kits in war-torn Syria, 19,980 School Kits in the refugee camps of Lebanon, and 19,201 Blankets and 1,776 Clean-Up Buckets in the United States, where a promised torrential hurricane season has just begun.  And this is just a fraction of the work CWS has done here and abroad.

Last year's Madison Walk raised nearly $35,000 making it #40 in the country! Our goal is $40,000 this year. 25% of all funds raised in the Walk stay in the Dane County area. Funds raised in the 2017 walk supported 38 different food pantries and meal sites this past year.
