Celebration Sunday

This last Sunday, we had the pleasure of celebrating!  First, worship was led by the children and youth of the church. They each took their part seriously and led us in a meaningful service. Thanks to the children and youth who participated, and the planning and rehearsal done by Jeff Rabe, Director of Christian Education for Children and Youth, and Don DeBruin, Director of Music Ministries. It was a service to celebrate!

Secondly, Board of Community Life hosted a lunch to recognize and celebrate members who have held membership at First Congregational for 50+ years. These members have provided a foundation of service that we continue to emulate today. Their gifts of time, talent, and treasures are second to none. It was a luncheon of celebration!

Finally, it was my pleasure to be able to announce to the congregation that Madison-area Urban Ministry (MUM), which was incubated by First Congregational, received a generous gift of $500,000 from the CUNA Foundation, making it possible to start renovations on 303 Lathrop to provide medical respite for homeless families in Healing House! We have been waiting for this day - it has arrived - and we must celebrate!
