First Cong Outdoor Weekend

Event Date:

Come for Saturday Activities, Picnic, and Campfire
Lake Farm Park offers easy hiking trails along Lake Waubesa, biking on the Capitol City and Lower Yahara Bike Trails, and an open grassy area for yard games.  As an exciting coincidence, the Milwaukee Public Museum's BioBlitz (www.mpm.org/bioblitz) is also being held on Saturday at Park Shelter 2.  Around 5:30, we will gather for a picnic dinner (bring food for yourself and any guests or something to share for a camp potluck). After dinner we will have a brief vespers service and enjoy the beautiful sunset while we roast marshmallows and eat Peeps s'mores around the campfire!

...Or camp for one or both nights - RSVP to Melissa Baumann (608-320-6644, MomChemist@gmail.com,) if you are planning to camp. The site is available Friday, 3pm to Sunday 3pm.  Some camping gear is available for loan.
Directions to Lake Farm Park Group Site - The entrance to the Group campsite is a left onto a dirt road just west of the entrance to the park shelters along Libby Road (on Google Maps, it maps to about 4477 Libby Rd.). The dirt road will join the new bike path, and you will drive along the bike path for about four tenths of a mile, after which you will turn right onto another dirt road to the campsite. There are signs for "Group Campsite" along the route.
