Thanks for your Spirit of Generosity!

The Spirit of Generosity at First Congregational is alive and well!  I am grateful for the many individuals who step up when a step is needed.  During the last stewardship campaign the congregation stepped up the annual giving by nearly 30%, enabling deferred maintenance to be addressed, so the church can continue to be a beacon of hope in the community.
However, the spirit of generosity didn't stop last fall.  This community has continued to step up with their time, talents, and treasures.  A request was made to support the refugees by purchasing gift cards through scrip, and over $1200 were purchased on the first Sunday following the announcement. People continue to purchase these cards with their generous spirit.
Then we asked for support to beautify the front area by the new ramp.  People responded, donating over $1600 to buy plants.  Many people gave time to help do the planting and also provide plants from their own gardens.  Members continue to monitor the garden spaces for weeds, planting new plants, and spreading mulch.
This week people will provide food and time, to serve at Community Meals, for our monthly service at Luke House.  Recently members and friends, gave food and cheered for the ACTride pitstop at Wales Community Park.  During the many renovations over the past several years, members have stepped up to provide their expertise.  We have people who volunteer in the office weekly.  This summer we have had many individuals who have provided special music during worship. We inform you food cards are needed--and funding is plentiful.
This is just a "snapshot" in time of the generosity of the members of First Congregational.  I give thanks for the spirit of generosity lived out in this congregation!  The gifts are given cheerfully.  Your generosity is noticed and appreciated.  THANKS to all!
