"Spotlight" Movie and Discussion

Event Date:
Friday, April 22, 2016 - 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Dinner at 6:00; Movie starts at 6:30 in the Fellowship Room
Join us in watching and discussing Spotlight, which just won the Academy Award for Best Picture. Delving into allegations of child abuse within the Boston Catholic Archdiocese, a tenacious team of Boston Globe reporters exposes a decades-long cover-up that reaches the highest levels of Boston's religious, legal and government establishment. The movie touches deeply on ethical issues faced by the church, law enforcement, and media. Rev. Eldonna Hazen will lead a discussion  based on a discussion guide provided by the United Church of Christ. All are welcome, but please note that the movie is rated R for language and sexual references!
We'll supply the pizza and drinks. Bring a dessert or side dish to pass if you are able, or just come and enjoy the dinner, movie, and discussion. If you have questions, please contact Melissa Baumann, MomChemist@gmail.com.
