Celebrating 175 Years....

In February 2006, a group from our church attended the Madison Repertory Theatre's first performance in its new home at The Playhouse in the Overture Center for the Arts.  The play was Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning "Our Town." Wilder was born in Madison in 1897 into a First Congregational church family. Thornton's older brother Amos grew up to become a Congregational minister and theology professor. After the 2006 "Our Town" performance, our church group talked with Tappan Wilder, Amos's son and the Wilder family literary executor.
