What is SCRIP?

The First Congregational UCC Scrip Program promises to be a simple and effective fundraising program. SCRIP is simply a word that means "substitute money" - in other words, SCRIP is gift cards from national and local retailers. The program offers gifts cards for over 700 of the most popular stores in the country. Families can use SCRIP to pay for gas, groceries, restaurants, home improvement, clothing, travel and entertainment.
Here's how it works. SCRIP participating retailers sell gift cards to First Congregational UCC at a 1% to 15% discount (varies by retailer). Member families buy the gift cards for full face value, redeem them for full face value, and our church keeps the difference as revenue. You earn money for our church without spending a single additional penny.
Earnings add up fast! The beauty of SCRIP is that we put our regular household shopping dollars to work. Just spend regular shopping dollars with SCRIP at the stores that participate in the SCRIP program! Shop in-store or online with participating retailers.  Everyday family purchases become consistent earnings for the church. It's easy for a single family to generate $600 to $1000 or more per year.
Physical and electronic gift cards are both available, depending on the retailer. The church will stock a limited selection of physical gift cards for the most popular stores. Additionally, members may place their own orders on ShopWithScrip.com or using the MyScripWallet mobile website to access the full selection of gift cards from participating retailers. You can order electronic gift cards, reload physical cards, and in many cases redeem them right from your phone! MyScripWallet lets you shop on-the-go, earning rebates on every purchase.
Some physical cards may be available as early as THIS Sunday. Watch the Tower for opportunities to learn about ShopWithScrip.com and MyScripWallet mobile.
