Demonstrating Gratitude

In 2014 First Congregational had the very unique and beloved opportunity to forge a meaningful relationship with Beth Israel Center. Through our ability to offer them sacred space to celebrate the Jewish High Holy Days, because of construction being done to their home, we have been able to enter into dialogue and appreciation for each other's faith traditions. A year ago, Rabbi Joshua and I offered an evening we titled Conversation on Gratitude.
Rabbi Joshua and I each chose a reading from our sacred text to provide a foundation for conversation about gratitude. We had over 60 people from the congregations and neighborhood come to talk about the faith traditions and enter into dialogue with each other.
Rabbi Joshua and I have planned a similar opportunity for the two congregations to engage in conversation again this year. We are titling our time together Demonstrating Thanks. We hope to focus more this year on how our sacred texts encourage us to demonstrate our thanks. This year the conversation will be held in Beth Israel's newly renovated space at 1406 Mound St in Madison. There is some parking available in a lot by the building or on streets in the neighborhood. We hope you will plan to join us at THIS SUNDAY, November 22nd at 7:00pm, when we join hands with our brothers and sisters to demonstrate thanks! There will also be tours of their renovated space after the conversation. And their new space is beautiful!
