One Great Hour of Sharing

Event Date:
Sunday, March 15, 2015 - 10:00am - 11:00am

Why give to One Great Hour of Sharing?

1. It feels good! By giving you are joining yourself to someone who has become a refugee from Iraq or the Democratic Republic of Congo. Warm clothes for children in refugee camps as well as food, equipment and school supplies for school age children in the Republic of Congo.

2. Be part of the future! You can pay forward by offering vocational education in a country like Honduras. Honduras needs skilled labor so CEVER offers courses in culinary arts, woodworking, welding, and machining. CEVER is a project of the community outreach arm of the Evangelical and Reformed Church of Honduras. Open doors for people to learn what they need now to earn a better living in the future.

3. Create and sustain justice by prayer. Prayer is truth-telling to God and to one another. To hear the pain of someone else is to be moved to action even if it is being a listener. And, sometimes those who listen know how to connect needs with services. This is being accomplished in Eastern Indonesia with women who suffered during the anti-Communist purges in the mid-1960’s.

4. Give to feel good, give to take part in the future, and give to empower justice by prayer. Just give, it is good for you. One Great Hour of sharing is good for our community of faith. Give with gratitude and share God’s blessings.

Your opportunity to give to One Great Hour of Sharing is Sunday, March 15th.
