ACT 13 U-Pit Volunteers Needed!

Event Date:
Friday, July 31, 2015 - 8:00am - 12:00pm

The ACT 13 Wisconsin AIDS Ride is days away. Riders prepare to ride their bikes 300 miles over four days and the crew is preparing to support them along the way.   There are so many ways you can be a part of this amazing, powerful experience and support the members of First Cong who are participating.

1)Attend the Opening Ceremonies – July 30th, 6:45- 7:30am at Olbrich Park (Walter and Atwood Avenues) Christine Bellport will emcee the ceremony and announce the opening of the route.

2)Volunteer at the First Congo Pit Stop – July 31, 8:00 – 11:30am at Sterr Park in Lomira, WI This is a major pit stop for the day as it features the very popular Popsicle Hill reward…an icy, cold popsicle. We are in need of volunteers to cheer riders and hand out popsicles at this pit stop. Let’s make our member riders proud by having an enthusiastic turnout. Contact Kim Fisher,

3)Bake or Donate Sweet and Salty Treats – In addition to handing out popsicles, Gatorade, and water, we are looking for volunteers to donate sweet and salty treats for the riders to enjoy during their rest and refueling at this stop. Cookies, bars, granola, pickles, eggs, chips, etc.  Please let Kim Fisher know if you are able to contribute and leave your offerings in the Pink Kitchen by Wednesday afternoon.

4)Attend the Closing Ceremonies – August 2, 2:00 – 4:30 PM at Capitol Square (Martin Luther King Blvd.) Celebrate with the riders and crew and witness the powerful tradition when the riders come in. VO5 will be performing at 2:00pm. Another great reason to stop on by!

Most importantly, please keep our First Congo members in your prayers as they participate in this 300 mile bike ride - Riders: Jeanne Marshall, Sue Jones, Cathy Noth, Terry Christopher and Crew: Melissa Baumann.

Please contact Kim Fisher, for more information.
