What WAS in the Box?

DNA (or Deoxyribonucleic acid) are the building blocks of living things. Like the tiny pieces of Legos that you individually link together to create just about anything you can imagine, tiny tiny pieces of DNA link together to create all living things... like sea stars, giraffes, flamingoes, and even humans! When these pieces of DNA link together, they form something called a double helix which looks like a twisted ladder. And the cool thing is that everyone has their own special DNA. (with the exception of identical twins). Your 'twisted ladder' is different than every other person in the world.

How these DNA pieces link together determine whether we are tall or short; have eyes that are blue, brown, or green; have straight hair or curly hair; are really strong, or can really run fast. Your DNA is a big part of making you who you are. And where do you get this DNA? From your parents. And they got their DNA from their parents, who got their DNA from their parents, and it goes way back to the beginnings of human beings. You are a product of all those people.

SO, just as people were waiting and preparing generation after generation for the arrival of that little baby in a manger, God has been waiting and preparing for you. And just as Jesus worked to do the best he could with all he was given from his ancestors, all the people before him, we are called to do the same.
