Prison Ministry Project Epiphany Service

Event Date:
Sunday, January 4, 2015 - 10:00am - Saturday, January 10, 2015 - 12:00pm

All are welcome to attend the annual Epiphany service celebrating the Prison Ministry Project. WISDOM/MOSES volunteers have built a replica of a Solitary Confinement cell which will be set up in the sanctuary during this worship service and the entire week following. The Prison Ministry Project will host its annual lunch and program in the church dining room right after worship offering solitary cell tours, speakers, video presentations, and distinguished guests.

Jan. 4-10, the cell will be at First Cong. During the week, there are two ways you can visit the cell: 1) open drop-in times, for people who want a closer look; and 2) by-appointment time slots to spend more time individually experiencing what it's like to sit in the solitary confinement cell. People who did this at Madison Christian Community when the cell was on display there last month have shared that this very personal experience is especially meaningful. Open Drop-in times are:

Tuesday, January 6, 1:00-4:00pm

Thursday, January 8, 1:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm

Saturday January 10, 9:00-Noon

To reserve an individual appointment for your visit to the cell please email Kate Edwards at chaplainKate@gmail.com.
