The Isle of Iona (That magical, mystical, thin place) For many, visiting the Scottish island of Iona appears on bucket lists. Why?

Beginning decades ago two Senior Ministers at different times ventured to Iona. One commissioned the cross we have in our sanctuary. Why?

Within the last decade, more than 20 people from our congregation have also traveled by car, plane, train, bus and ferry to get to this island just 3 ½ miles long and ¾ mile wide. Some have been there as many as five times. Why?

Seasonally, we have Vespers services in the chapel using the Iona liturgy. Why?

(And again we will do so during this Advent in December.)

Come for a wee bit of history, stories and slides about Iona. Hopefully you too will come to understand why  this island does matter to so many. Come also for yummy scones!

Sundays November 10 and 17, beginning at 8:45am, in the Fellowship Room.
