Members in Discernment

Event Date:
Sunday, July 14, 2013 - 9:00am - Sunday, July 21, 2013 - 10:00am

The next two Sundays we will be welcoming two of our Members in Discernment with the Southwest Association of the Wisconsin Conference to preach during worship. Tracy Nolan and Clare Gromoll have been supported by First Congregational through the discernment process. We will be hosting a reception for each of them before worship at 9:00am in the Student Lounge.  Clare will join us July 14, and Tracy on July 21. I hope you will stop by before worship to hear about their experiences and show our support for the work each of them are doing.

Clare is currently finishing her final year at United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities. She extended her time at the seminary in order to take on a part time Student Minister position at St. Paul’s UCC in Minnesota. This last fall, she formed a youth and children’s ministry team at the church, in order to provide better vision for the program. She also works with the Ministry of Belonging and Community, to support hospitality, fellowship and small group ministry. Clare has a 2 year license with the Minnesota Conference, to be able to administer the sacraments at the church. Clare was active in the Women’s Book Group at First Congregational.  When she joins us, she will be six days away from her wedding day!

Tracy spent two years living in Madison (2007-2009) and worshipping at First Congregational, where she was active with the young adult group and the ACT Ride team. She completed her Master of Divinity degree in 2012 at McCormick Theological Seminary (Chicago, IL) and is currently completing a year-long chaplaincy residency at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital (Park Ridge, IL). Tracy’s experience includes a breadth of ministries, including campus ministry here in Madison and ministry with homeless LGBTQ youth in Chicago. She currently lives in Chicago with her beloved dog, Aedy.
