Capitol Pride Parade & Rally

The Parade: Is set to kick off at 1:00 PM at the end of State Street near Library Mall. The procession will continue up State Street, around the Capitol Square counterclockwise and end at the rally location.

The Rally Celebration: Will take place on the Capitol Square, on the corner of W. Mifflin & N. Carroll streets, right at the top of State Street. 

Just Added! Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin has been added to the speaker line up for the rally! She joins; Madison Mayor Paul Soglin, 78^th Assembly District Representative Mark Pocan, and Dane County Executive Joe Parisi! The rally celebration will directly follow the parade from 2:00-5:00 PM.  

Entertainment! Featuring DJ-JP, and a special performance by the Fred Astaire Dance Studio. Sound on the WCP stage & float donated by Stingray Productions.

 Vendors: There will be food, retail, and informational vendor booths set up on the square. Booths will open between 10:00 AM and Noon. WCP will feature several Health related tents hosted by GHC, Outreach LGBT Center, and other local & state groups. Retail includes everything pride, jewelry, books, t-shirts, photography and more. Enjoy Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, smoothies, Café Costarica and more!

 Be in the Pride Parade! Applications are available for download on our website. You can march in the parade, decorate a vehicle, or show off a float to advertise your business, group, or cause. Be creative and have fun, submit your application today. We are excited to feature the Forward Marching Band this year!

The Pride Raffle is in Full Swing! Each person who purchases one or more raffle tickets will receive one FREE dance lesson from Fred Astaire Dance Studios! Buy your tickets now for the WCP raffle. A portion of the proceeds will benefit LGBT scholarships and will be dispersed through GSAFE. You could Win; IPad2- donated by UW Credit Union, $250 COLD HARD CASH!  3 Night Stay at Captain Dix Rainbow Valley Resort ($460 value), Free Ballroom Dance Lessons from Fred Astaire Dance Studios, Food from Famous Dave’s, Talula, Granite City..and more!  Pride City Wide! You will find all Pride related events and activities scheduled all across the city and sponsored by various groups and businesses posted on our website. Please help support all of our LGBT Businesses and Allies.

 Picnic on the Patio! In the spirit of all things “Magical” come as you are and enjoy food, beverages, games and entertainment. This is a fundraiser for Wisconsin Capitol Pride hosted by Club 5

The “Big Gay Brunch”! In support of Pride, restaurants all over the city will serve breakfast/brunch on Sunday before the parade from 9:00 AM-1:00Pm. Visit our website for a full list of participating restaurants!

The Parade is also looking for volunteers. We will need help with set up/ tear down for the rally on the square as well as closing streets and monitoring intersections. We will also need a few CPR Certified volunteers to help in the first aide booth, along with volunteers for Security.
