Week of April 17-23
You asked for my mouth, to speak out against injustice.
I gave you a whisper, that I might not be accused or rejected.
You asked for my eyes, to see the pain of poverty.
I looked briefly, and then closed them, for I did not want to see.
You asked for my life, that you might work through me.
I gave you a small part, that I might not get too involved.
God of abundant and infinite grace,
Open my eyes to see your world as it is.
Open my ears to hear cries of pain and suffering.
Open my mouth to speak on behalf of the poor and outcast.
Open my arms in full welcome of you and your world.
Renew me in your abundant and infinite grace.
Help me make an extravagant offering of my life.
Let my days be filled with generosity.
I pray in the name of the most extravagant gift of all, Jesus Christ. Amen
