Hymn #121: Toda la Tierra (All Earth Is Waiting)

Alberto Vinas Taule (b. 1932) wrote this text for the season of Advent.  It utilizes images of promise from the Hebrew Scriptures and those of fulfillment through Christ's birth from the New Testament.  This, Taule's first hymn to be published in the United States, originally appeared in The United Methodist Hymnal (1989).

Alberto Taule, a Roman Catholic priest, has served a small parish in Barcelona, Spain, and worked for the national offices on liturgical issues related to music.  He received his education at Pontificio Istituto di Musica Sacra S. Pio X. Roma, also in Spain.

Alberto Vinas Taule (b. 1932) composed this tune for his own text, and it was named TAULE in U.S. hymnals to honor him.  Much of Taule's music has been recorded  and continues to grow in popularity far beyond his native Spain.

Albert Taule was born December 2, 1932, at Sabadell, Spain.  Many of his thirty-five hymns have been included in Cantoral Liturgico Nacional, the official Roman Catholic hymnal used in Spain.  He serves as the director of music publications in Centre de Pastoral Liturgica in Barcelona, Spain.
